Most social networks are built to capture your attention and sell it. That makes them loud, fast, and hostile to deep thought. We wanted the opposite: a quiet place to work through hard questions, rough concepts, and new ideas without algorithms or ads getting in the way.
Started in a classroom.
Spark began with a simple frustration at university. While working on a new concept around Transformer architecture, Nata wanted to test the idea with peers outside a single lecture hall. But campus discussion boards were locked behind individual course codes. The moment a class ended, the conversation - and everyone in it - was gone.

We believe students shouldn't have to pay a monthly fee just to think together, and they shouldn't have to trade their privacy for ads. With Spark, universities and organizations provide the workspace for their campus, while everyone gets a personal account for open discussion that stays with them for life.
