University discussion tools are usually locked to a course code. A student cannot easily work with peers in another department on the same campus, let alone with people at another institution. Those course silos are the problem Spark exists to break. Spark is a cross-institutional collaborative platform for academic and research work.
Inside an institution, students collaborate across departments from their workspace instead of staying trapped in one course. When they are ready, they can move that work from the workspace onto the global network and collaborate with academics and professionals beyond their campus. Over time, what they thought and solved becomes a verified credential on their Spark profile - an evidence-based record that supports their future employability.

Spark is a B2B platform for universities and similar institutions. The institution licenses access for its community. Students, educators, and campus operators should not have to pay out of pocket for the environment itself.
Our primary customers are academic institutions that want a collaboration layer across courses, campus, and other institutions. We also work with educators and institutional operators who run cohort rollouts.

Current status
Spark is in a closed beta with institutions. We are not running a public signup. Accounts are created in the mobile app.
As a team we are participating in the Australian eChallenge, the flagship pre-accelerator at ThincLab, Adelaide University's business incubator. We are currently in ThincLab's incubation process.
