Our Commitment
Spark is built on a monochrome, high-contrast design system by default - not layered on afterward. Rather than asserting blanket "AAA compliance," we've computed the exact contrast ratio of every core color pairing in our design system against the W3C's own formula, and we're publishing the real numbers below, including the one place we fall short of the strictest tier.
Conformance Target
Every text/background pairing on this site meets or exceeds WCAG 2.1 Level AA (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and UI components). Our primary text - headings and body copy - clears the stricter Level AAA bar (7:1) by a wide margin in both Light and Dark mode. Our secondary ("muted") text color, used for captions, timestamps, and other lower-emphasis UI, meets AA but not AAA at normal text size - we'd rather tell you that directly than round it up.

Legal document text (our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and every regional disclosure) intentionally uses a dedicated, higher-contrast token rather than our general secondary text color, specifically so the documents most likely to be scrutinized for accessibility hold to the stricter AAA bar.
Motion & Animation
Every scroll-driven animation and transition on this site - including
the homepage's reveal effects and the header's logo animation - respects your operating system's prefers-reduced-motion
setting. If you have reduced motion enabled, those effects are replaced
with an instant state change instead of a fade or slide.
Keyboard & Touch Targets
Interactive elements - buttons, links, and the theme switch - maintain a minimum 44×44px touch target on every screen size, consistent with Apple's Human Interface Guidelines, regardless of how compact their visible padding looks.
